SES RFID Solutions Membership in PSIA

SES RFID Solutions is an official member of the Physical Security Interoperability Alliance (PSIA) registry, which can be verified directly on the alliance membership page (https://psialliance.org/about/members/). This membership aligns our specialized card hardware with global physical security specifications, bringing both our BIOMTX™ battery-free fingerprint cards and our high-performance, ISO-compliant UMTX Java Card systems into the PKOC (Public Key Open Credential) open standard ecosystem.

Bringing PKOC Standards to Physical Smart Cards

The PSIA’s PKOC specification enables smartphones and wearables to act as secure digital physical access credentials using asymmetric cryptography. However, in high-security environments—such as server rooms, research laboratories, manufacturing plants, and government facilities—personal mobile devices are frequently restricted due to compliance and security protocols.

SES RFID Solutions addresses this need by bringing the open PKOC protocol directly into physical card form factors. This allows security system integrators to offer their clients a physical card option that uses the exact same open cryptographic access standard as modern mobile credentials.

Our Compatible Card Hardware

By deploying the open PKOC protocol on our hardware architectures, SES supplies two distinct card options for system integrators:

  • BIOMTX™ Match-on-MCU Privacy Architecture: Engineered for user biometric privacy, all fingerprint template matching is executed securely within the card’s integrated Microcontroller Unit (MCU) secure enclave. Biometric data never leaves the physical card, ensuring compliance with strict data privacy mandates (such as GDPR). Driven entirely by passive RFID/NFC energy harvesting, the card delivers instant asymmetric key generation and verification without any battery degradation or maintenance cycles.
  • UMTX ISO Java Card Open Platform Ecosystem: Built upon industry-standard smart card hardware architectures (ISO/IEC 7816 for contact and ISO/IEC 14443 for contactless/NFC), the UMTX Java Card platform brings flexible deployment options to physical and logical access control. Running the PKOC cryptographic applet layer over standard ISO protocols allows for secure identity provisioning and direct compatibility with corporate Identity and Access Management (IAM) software ecosystems.
  • Universal Reader Compatibility: Both the BIOMTX™ fingerprint card and the UMTX ISO Java Card are engineered to communicate with mainstream, standard-compliant physical reader infrastructure already deployed in the field (including standard high-frequency and NFC configurations). This allows security integrators to adopt our advanced credential hardware instantly without requiring an overhaul of their existing reader infrastructure.

Commitment to Interoperability

“Our membership with the PSIA registry is a practical step forward for our hardware lines,” said Cindy Chou, representative for SES RFID Solutions. “Bringing the PKOC standard onto our BIOMTX™ biometric line and our ISO-compliant UMTX Java Card platform expands the options for open credential implementation. We are focused on manufacturing cards that offer cryptographic strength in a rugged, battery-free physical card format that communicates with standard access points.”

Our clients and integration partners can verify our membership status directly on the PSIA website. Moving forward, SES RFID Solutions will continue to focus on manufacturing custom secure credential hardware and working with worldwide systems integrators.
