About SES RFID Solutions

We design and manufacture RFID tag hardware across two business units: IAM (Industrial Asset Management) — rugged passive transponders for industrial, automotive, and infrastructure applications; and IDM (Identification Management) — high-security fingerprint smart cards and credential prelams for access control. Our product range is built on five proprietary tag technologies developed in-house since 2003.

WIRETX / UHF

Wire-embedded tag technology

Designed for tyre and automotive applications. Maintains read performance under mechanical stress and pressure.

UMTX / UHF · HF · LF

Ultra-compact and ultra-thin RFID

UM1000 is a 2×2×1mm UHF tag for minimal-footprint applications. UM2000 is an ultra-thin flat prelam strap in HF or LF for ISO card credentials.

ZEUSTX / UHF · HF · LF

Harsh-environment passive transponder

Available in UHF, HF, or LF, with optional dual-frequency configuration for outdoor and heavy-asset environments.

BIOMTX / HF

Biometric smart card hardware

Supports on-card fingerprint verification. Biometric data is matched and stored on the card itself, with no central database required.

FPCB / HF

Flexible printed circuit board substrates

Enables integration of sensors and secure elements into cold-lamination credential card formats.

Verified credentials

The following are current certifications and memberships. We do not list lapsed or aspirational credentials.

TCA MemberTaipei Computer Association Taiwan's principal ICT industry association.
Supplier audits Periodic quality audits of component suppliers. Part of our ISO 9001:2015 quality management system.
Business conduct Ethical business conduct, customer confidentiality, and data protection are standing operational requirements, not discretionary policies.

Where our products are used in ESG-related applications

We supply RFID tag hardware only. The following describes customer applications where our tags are used in traceability and sustainability-related contexts. ESG outcomes depend on customer systems, software, and processes — we make no claims beyond the hardware we supply.

EU Digital Product Passport (DPP) — Regulation 2024/1781 (ESPR)

ESPR requires products sold in the EU to carry a scannable data carrier (QR code or RFID) linked to a Digital Product Passport. The required carrier type is specified per product category in each delegated act. SES RFID tag hardware is applicable where RFID is the specified or permitted carrier.

Tyre & automotive tracking

WIRETX tags are used for tyre embedding and automotive component identification. Relevant to the forthcoming tyre DPP delegated act under ESPR.

EV battery supply chain

EU Regulation 2023/1542 mandates a battery passport from February 2027, with QR code as the required consumer-facing data carrier. Our RFID tags are used by customers for production tracking and logistics within battery supply chains.

Multi-frequency tag options

UMTX and ZEUSTX cover UHF, HF, and LF, with optional dual-frequency. Customers select the appropriate frequency based on their application and any applicable regulatory data carrier requirement.

Asset & inventory tracking

Passive RFID tags used across manufacturing, logistics, agriculture, and construction for item-level identification — a prerequisite for supply chain transparency and material compliance reporting.

Environmental monitoring tags

Passive sensor tags measuring temperature, humidity, strain, or pressure — used in construction, agriculture, and infrastructure. Passive design requires no battery or active power source.

EU DPP mandatory timeline by product category

The applications above correspond to the product categories where EU law is mandating scannable data carriers. Based on EU Regulation 2024/1781 and the European Commission ESPR Working Plan as of June 2026. Dates for delegated acts not yet formally adopted are indicative.

  1. 19 Jul 2026
    In effect

    EU Central DPP Registry launches

ESPR (EU Regulation 2024/1781) entered into force 18 July 2024; 19 July 2026 is when the EU Central DPP Registry goes live and the Commission's framework provisions reach full application. No product-specific DPP is mandatory on this date — obligations arise only when product-specific delegated acts are published and their transition periods expire. Iron and steel is the first priority product group under the ESPR Working Plan 2025–2030; its delegated act is targeted for adoption in 2026, with compliance obligations following roughly 18–24 months later.

  2. 18 Feb 2027
    Mandatory

Battery Passport — EU Regulation 2023/1542

Applies to EV batteries, light means of transport (LMT) batteries (e-bikes, e-scooters), and industrial batteries over 2 kWh placed on the EU market. QR code is the mandated consumer-facing data carrier under Article 13. RFID tags may be used by customers for internal production and logistics tracking within the battery supply chain.

  3. 2027–2029
    Delegated act expected

    Tyres

Listed in ESPR Working Plan 2025–2030. Delegated act targeted for adoption in 2027. Mandatory compliance will follow at least 18 months after formal publication — realistically no earlier than 2029. Data carrier requirements, whether QR code, RFID, or both, will be confirmed in the delegated act.

  4. 2028–2029
    In preparation

    Textiles & apparel

Listed in ESPR Working Plan 2025–2030. Delegated act expected for adoption in 2027; mandatory compliance realistically 18+ months later, no earlier than late 2028. Scope and data carrier requirements to be confirmed upon adoption.

  5. 2028–2030
    Planned

Furniture, construction products, and other categories

Listed in ESPR Working Plan 2025–2030 for delegated act development. Electronics (ICT) are not listed as a priority group in the first working plan but may follow in subsequent plans. All timelines and requirements are subject to formal Commission adoption and may change.

Sources: EU Regulation 2024/1781 (ESPR); EU Regulation 2023/1542 (Battery Regulation); European Commission ESPR Working Plan 2025–2030 (adopted 16 April 2025). All delegated act timelines are indicative and subject to formal adoption; compliance obligations arise only upon publication of a delegated act and expiry of its transition period.

Our manufacturing and product design practices

The following describes what we currently do in our own operations. These are process practices, not outcome claims.

  • Form factor. Tag dimensions are kept as small as technically feasible for each application. Smaller form factors use less material per unit.
  • Quality-controlled production. Our ISO 9001:2015-certified quality system includes defect rate monitoring and process controls at our Taichung factory. Lower defect rates reduce material waste in manufacturing.
  • Customer end-of-life applications. Some customers use our tags in recycling and end-of-life product sorting systems. This is a customer application of our hardware; we do not make claims about the environmental outcomes of customer deployments.

People and community

  • Safe and healthy working environment. We maintain safe and healthy working conditions across our locations.
  • Employee training and professional development. We support training and competency development as part of our quality-led operating culture.
  • Equal opportunity and fair employment practices. We apply fair employment practices across our organization.
  • Long-term customer and partner relationships. We build stable, long-term relationships with customers, suppliers, and partners.
